Thanksgiving is not only a time to share what we are thankful for, but it is also a time when we gather around the table eating more food than we normally consume in a week, we laugh, we play games, we talk… But most importantly it is a time to spread love.
This year the Zion Project along with the Together Coalition will be hosting their first ever FriendsGiving.
The purpose behind this event is to raise awareness, funds and support to help those who are fighting the issues of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
According to end slavery Tennessee there are on average 94 minors each month that are sold into sexual exploitation. This means in 1 year alone over 1,100 children in just Tennessee are violated. This number does not include adult victims.
When you hear the number and statistics of those who are being sold it is hard to know where to start and it all can feel a little overwhelming. But, do not let fear dictate your response. You can do something that will greatly impact the life of a survivor and you can have fun while doing it!
FriendsGiving will be a night where the Together Coalition will share their vision, purpose and heart for why we do what we are doing.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and give to bring freedom to others.
The together coalition was founded because they believe that it takes more than one person or one organization to help those who are in need. But just as they need each other to impact the lives of others we need you to be part of the team too!
Help give survivors a reason to be thankful this holiday season by coming and being part of FriendsGiving and sharing the love you have with those who need it the most.
